When a low-profile system is used

The low-profile system suits rooms where floor height is limited by door openings, thresholds, stairs, lifts, or existing levels in adjacent rooms. It is especially practical for apartment renovations, hotel rooms, corridors, and compact offices.

Adjustable supports compensate for uneven concrete slabs without a thick wet screed. After the level is set, a flat base is formed for boards and the finished floor covering.

Acoustics and build-up

Damping elements at support points reduce vibration transfer between the finished floor and the structural slab. Actual acoustic performance depends on the supports, boards, finish covering, and the building structure.

The shallow void under the boards can carry selected cables and pipes when the project allows. Services must not lift the boards or create rigid bridges across the acoustic elements.
