Challenge: an empty floor in an old building

Before the works the floor was empty: exposed columns, a bare floor and daylight from the windows along one side.

In an old building the existing structure sets the rules. Columns, window lines and floor levels are already there, and the new offices have to be planned around them.

Solution: partitions, glazed offices and washrooms

The new layout was set out with metal stud framing across the open floor. The frames marked the offices, the corridor and the wet areas before any boarding or glazing went in.

Glazed partitions separate the offices from the corridor. The washrooms are tiled in blue and white, with wall-hung basins, mirrors and cubicle doors.

Result: a working office

The empty floor became a working office with partitions, glazed offices, washrooms and a lounge with a panelled wall and lit niches.
